I’ve been extraordinarily fortunate in that so much of my work is preserved in commercial recordings, and that it is still readily available. Indeed, as I write, one can access almost everything on YouTube.
As regards my live performances, I had a stock of recordings – all from the BBC – in my personal collection, from an era of technology that perhaps only the dinosaur would recognise: reel-to-reel tape or cassette, from radio. When I went, after all these years, to access them so much had degraded. As a result, I often don’t have complete performances any longer (perhaps they exist somewhere in a BBC archive, but I have not been successful in tracing them).
This is what I do have, and it is presented ‘warts and all’, not only vis-à-vis the recording quality, but also with my occasional wrong notes!
